It is with great pride and pleasure that we announce that IDD has been awarded the prestigious Luca Ometto 2023 Award for Sustainability. This award, received during a ceremony held on Thursday, November 23rd at Caffè Pedrocchi in Padua, Italy, is a symbol of our ongoing commitment to sustainable innovation and respect for the environment.
Innovation and sustainability at the new headquarters
The first pillar of our success was the construction of our new headquarters. Designed with the environment in mind, it is completely self-sufficient thanks to photovoltaic panels and energy-saving technologies. Strategic windows and openings maximize natural light, while plants and water features create a healthy and stimulating work environment for our employees.
Creative recycling in design
Another key factor in our win was the innovative design by our graphic designer, Denia Formigoni, who transformed cardboard and waste materials into a museum of unwearable shoes and shoe prototypes. This project not only demonstrates our creativity, but also highlights the importance of recycling and reuse in the design industry.
Research and development for a sustainable future
Our Research and Development department has played a crucial role, working tirelessly to recommend increasingly innovative and sustainable materials to our customers. This commitment reduces the environmental impact of our industry and drives the industry towards greener practices.
Working with the Italian School of Design
Finally, our project with SID (Scuola Italiana Design) saw students work alongside our teams to integrate NFT technology into footwear, with a focus on recycling and reuse. These initiatives highlight the importance of education and collaboration in promoting sustainability in design.
Winning the Luca Ometto Award 2023 is a significant milestone for IDD and reaffirms our commitment to being at the forefront of sustainability. We will continue to pursue innovative solutions for a greener and more responsible future.
